We are here again with our recommendation for what’s happening and what worthy for reading. Take notes!

Movies and Reading Materials:

Love storytelling with fantastic visuals? How to Train Your Dragon, based on a book written by a female author (and, we must point out, three of the five producers are women), is here! (via Feminist Review)

A Short History of Women by Kate Walbert. For those of you that haven’t read it yet, it’s never late!

If you are in L.A. this weekend, don’t miss the L.A. Times Festival of Books. The author Janelle Brown will be there talking about her 2008 debut, All We Ever Want is Everything, and the upcoming This Is Where We Live on the panel "Fiction: Lives Intertwined" (via The Los Angeles Times).

Events:

It’s awesome when you can repeat successful events. If you’re near or in Chicago, join the Chifems tweetup fun on April 24.

YWTF-DC will be holding their annual Cheers to Choice fundraiser on May 25. Proceeds benefit Courtney’s House.

An interesting workshop, “Using activism to confront and transform rape culture" is happening on April 28 up in New York featuring Nancy Schwartzman.

Do you know an awesome young feminist? Nominate him or her for the 40 Under 40: the Future of Feminism by May 14 (via Feminist Press).
