In case you didn’t already know, today is Day of the Girl!
A year- long campa
ign, Day of the Girl is a project of School Girls Unite, an organization working to advance the U.N. Millennium Development goals related to gender equality, universal basic educations, and human rights issues.
While women and girls have come a long way in opening doors and increased opportunities, there is still a great deal to be done. Part of the goal is to highlight, celebrate, discuss and advance girls lives through opportunity around the world. Here at Fem2.0 we are tweeting information and statistics all day to highlight the state of women and girls around the world. You can follow the entire conversation through #dayofthegirl as well.
