The book “Girls are Mighty Fine” by Amy Martin is her newest collection  of cartoons, following The Single Girls and Bachelor Girl’s Mother Goose. Martin takes on female friendships and lifestyles in a way that’s gritty, honest and relatable — and it’s great to see a female cartoonist out there! (via Ms. Magazinee).

The “Vintage Book of American Women Writers” by Elaine Showalter Vintage begins with Anne Bradford and closes with modern writers like Amy Tan. There are so few women authors taught in English programs — this anthology is a must for anyone who wants to celebrate the female written word (via elevate difference).

The “Echoes of Chongqing: Women in Wartime China” by Danke Li describes the way of life for women in a small city in China during the second World War through interviews and public records, putting a human (and distinctly female) face on Chinese history (via Amazon).
