<p>The &ldquo;<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Echoes-Chongqing-Women-Wartime-China/dp/0252076745">Echoes of Chongqing: Women in Wartime China</a>&rdquo; by <a href="http://www.paperbackswap.com/Danke-Li/author/">Danke Li</a> describes the way of life for women in a small city in China during the second World War through interviews and public records, putting a human (and distinctly female) face on Chinese history (via <a href="http://blogcritics.org/books/article/book-review-echoes-of-chongqing-women/page-2/">Amazon</a>).&nbsp;</p>

<p>To honor the anniversary of <a href="http://womenshistory.about.com/od/abortionuslegal/p/roe_v_wade.htm">Roe v Wade</a>, the <a href="http://www.janefund.org/">Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts</a> has organized an annual Meeting and Fundraiser Luncheon at <a href="http://www.menuism.com/restaurants/maxwell-silvermans-restaurant-worcester-200631">Maxwell Silverman&rsquo;s Restaurant</a>, 25 Union Street, MA, on Sunday the 23rd. <p>This upcoming Wednesday, January 26th, join the <a href="http://www.cfw.org/Page.aspx?pid=327">Asian American Leadership Council of Chicago Foundation for Women</a> for a discussion about the importance of creating an API voice for reproductive justice issues. This meeting will focus particularly on the Illinois Personal Responsibility Education Program (Illinois-PREP) Act.
